I found the installer log here’s what happens: Jan 13 11:00:00 ipsec-172-16-69-253 Installer: PROJECT:Install-1000 Why isn’t someone third party getting into this? Too much investment, not enough users. Yeah, it’s prob a mac problem, though you aren’t supporting the PC side on the MR816X either. This is a ten year old interface, and firewire is done on the Mac. High Sierra won’t run Ableton X better, you have to catch up. You’ll make people trust your brand, always important. This is a big step, and mac won’t make that step again for a long time, so the rewrite will last a while. If you’re getting out of the business, that’s one thing, but if you’re staying in, better spend the money on the coding. Steinberg, I want to have empathy about Apple and their horrendous application security (why is it scanning every app every time, I just want to turn my music computer off of the net anyway), but I also have a deprecated MR816x and going back to pre Catalina, when it actually has a decent finder, and Ableton and everyone else’s VST AU seem to be running fine. I reinstalled 2.0.2 and it didn’t do anything. THen, even more oddly, Ableton decided to stop seeing it entirely after about 5-6 attempts to select it again. However, today I launched Ableton etc, went to preferences, and ableton gave me a warning about not supporting devices that dont have stereo inputs, which was odd. I monitored through it for a solid 100 minutes. It’s not working in Catalina for me either, although it did last night when first installed. If anyone can provide some strategies for how I can identify and resolve this problem, that would be fantastic! Still no driver listed at the bottom of the Mac’s System Preferences window. The Cubase>Studio Setup>VST Audio System>Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8>Control Panel>CoreAudio Device Settings still displays Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8 as the driver. All audio works across multiple applications. There is no longer an icon for the the Steinberg driver at the bottom of the Mac’s System Preferences window. The Cubase>Studio Setup>VST Audio System>Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8>Control Panel>CoreAudio Device Settings displays Yamaha MOXF6/MOXF8 as the driver. No audio can be played from any application. One VST (EZDrummer) indicates “Audio engine inactive”. ![]() No audio or even MIDI to VST instruments works ![]()
